4/23/23 - This problem repeated every few weeks only on 1 Echo Dot Gen 3 device so I switched the devices and the problem happened repeatedly again. I unplugged the power supply from the socket for about 1 minute; plugged it back in; the device started with a blue ring circling; and then worked perfectly. I didn't have to do anything else.
