For Vanilla Skyrim, I'm gonna have to go with Steel Plate. For Dawnguard, I'm gonna go with the Dawnguard armor, just because of my personal love for the Brigandine style of armor. I'd like to say that their armor is not technically a coat-of-plate like some might argue, since the plates are riveted to the fabric, rather than sewn into it.
