This can be caused by various things including low oil level, failed oil pump, blocked oil passages and a failed oil pressure sensor. Running an engine when the oil pressure light is on is a recipe for disaster.

The dealer told me that Honda sent them new page inserts to change all of the vtx1300's to read 10W-30. Said there were so many manuals envolved, it seemed to take forever.
